Pastoral

Image:

The divine-human exchange depicted in stone, detail of the ambo, Santa Sabina, Rome.

The outer circle is expressive of the eternity of God, the square is expressive of our humanity, in image and likeness of God, yet finite and broken at four corners. The braids from the outer circle through the square are expressive of the incarnation, and the inner medallion is expressive of the divine life revealed within our humanity.
